March Meet the Maker or #MarchMeettheMaker is a wonderful Instagram challenge that happens every March. First created in 2016 by Joanna Hawker the challenge involves posting something with a new prompt every day for the 31 days of March. The prompts all help you get to know the people behind the brand, see how products are made as well as things like the struggles people face and lessons they have learned. Now five years in and with small businesses and makers around the globe taking part, the challenge is huge on Instagram and something I really look forward to!
Meet the Makers
I have been taking part for the last three years and I love it! The maker community is really wonderful and it’s so great to find other small businesses, see what people get up to behind the scenes and get to know more about the businesses you love. With such a big following it can be a bit overwhelming but I do try and have a browse throughout the month and build up a little list of things I find that catch my eye. It’s often a very helpful list to come back to at birthdays and Christmas too!
I thought I would share a little selection of some wonderful creative makers who have taken part that I have come across this year. As I said the challenge is huge now so this is only a very small insight into some of those involved, but I hope you enjoy my little selection!
