About Me

Hello, I'm Imogen — watercolour illustrator, live illustrator, and creative workshop facilitator. I believe in the power of creativity to connect, heal, and surprise people, including those who are convinced it isn't for them.

My work spans bespoke illustration for brands and organisations, live illustration at events, and creative wellbeing workshops for teams and retreats. It's all rooted in the same thing: stories, people, and the details that make both worth paying attention to.

Why watercolour?

Watercolour painting is my creative home. It’s unpredictable and free, with colours that move and blend in ways you can’t always control, and I love that. It invites you to slow down, breathe, and embrace imperfection; and I believe there’s a lesson in that for all of us. Creativity is healing, calming, and joyful. It helps us process our emotions, reconnect, and pause.

That’s why I’m so passionate about using illustration and workshops to give people not just beautiful artwork, but the experience of creating and feeling differently; it’s a truly amazing tool for everyone; from supporting your mental health and wellbeing to just bringing pockets of joy into your day.

A few things I love

My paint-stained water pot (made by a dear friend), my beautiful, trusty drawing tools, my sketchbook, and the kettle boiling for yet another cup of tea. My work uniform of Lucy and Yak dungarees, our tiny allotment where I love to sit and paint for hours, or potter with my two wonderful children. All these small, everyday things and moments keep me connected to why I do this work, because creativity is for everyone, not just “artists”.

My Story

Before starting my illustration business, I spent over a decade working as an interior designer, primarily in corporate, hospitality, and commercial residential projects. Every brief was about more than how a space looked; it was about how it made people feel, the story it told, and the experience it created. I loved creating narratives and that way of thinking shapes everything I do now. Listening carefully, translating ideas into something real, creating work that genuinely resonates.

Over the past two years that's extended into facilitating creative programmes and my work with West Kent Mind has profoundly shaped how I hold space for people in a workshop setting. Alongside my creative practice I hold a Mental Health First Aid qualification and peer support training, and I've seen first-hand what happens when someone returns to creativity for the first time in years and realises they're more capable than they thought.

Creative Collaborations

Since starting my illustration business, I’ve been lucky enough to work on some truly beautiful and varied projects:

  • Oxygen Conservation Maps – combining unique landscapes, properties and species to bring their portfolio of estates to life

  • The Newman Hotel, Fitzrovia – translating their vision into illustrations used across their website, marketing collateral, and guest experience.

  • Seasonal Editorial Commissions for Country Homes & Interiors Magazine – providing an “evocative, detailed and joyous image to accompany a feature” in the magazine

  • Skye McAlpine – creating bespoke-designed mail-out cards for a unique homeware brand that added “that extra special touch to [their] customer experience”

  • Hampton Court House – capturing the grandeur and personality of this iconic building in watercolour.

…and many more creative collaborations with purpose-led brands who want their story told in a distinctive, handcrafted way. Perhaps you next?

A little creative encouragement

Even if you never pick up a paintbrush, I believe creativity is something we all need, whether it’s gardening, cooking, writing, or sketching. That’s why I started The Creative Covey newsletter, where I share inspiration, stories, and a gentle nudge to carve out creative time for yourself.

Let’s work together

Whether you're looking for illustration, live illustration at your event, or a creative workshop experience, I'd love to hear from you.
